I came to Australia by myself when I was 15. This early experience of being an outsider shaped nearly two decades of my life and my career living in a foreign country. I felt I had to work twice as hard just to be considered equal. I chased achievements and promotions to prove my value, all while battling the fear of standing by my values and advocates.

Every step I took in work and life felt like it required a massive amount of energy. I lived in a state of constant worry and anxiety, overthinking every word I say and second-guessing every decision I made. I was so busy "performing" that I couldn't actually enjoy my life. I might look successful on paper, but I knew I was exhausted inside.

I finally realized I was running in the wrong direction. I was trying to buy respect with my output, but what I actually wanted were to be seen as who I am and contribute to the world in a way that actually felt like me. I didn't need to work harder; I needed to change how I show up.

Few years ago, I became a mum to my two children which were the humblest experiences of my life. Not only I understand the unique challenge of juggling personal ambition with family life without losing yourself in the process, the new identity of being a mum also gave me the courage to pursue my calling without waiting further.
